Given its significant relationship to substance use, trauma continues to be a cross-SAMHSA and BSAS priority. The goal of this training is to enhance the ability of substance use disorder treatment programs to integrate trauma-informed best-practices into their service delivery. To achieve this goal, we will review and discuss the trauma integration assessment and planning process. We will also provide tools and strategies for implementing a trauma-informed approach. Participants will discuss organizational change and will practice organizational assessment and planning tools.

The training is intended for anyone involved in organization-level change, including administrators, policymakers, clinical supervisors, administrative supervisors, and members of leadership teams.

At the end of this training participants will be able to:

1. Describe the importance of using a trauma-informed approach

2. Describe the process of organizational trauma integration assessment

3. Identify strategies for implementing a trauma-informed approach
