Nicotine addiction is very prevalent among those in treatment for substance use disorder. It is also increasingly common for individuals to use multiple types of products to get nicotine. Some of these products, like the newer types of e-cigarettes, are small and easy to use frequently. The majority of vaping products on the market today contain even higher levels of nicotine than prior versions, which leads to high levels of nicotine addiction. Unfortunately, this can negatively affect SUD treatment programs in a myriad of ways.
