This training is designed to provide participants with information regarding the importance of effective communication in resolving conflicts, addressing triggers, and creating an emotionally safe environment. It is also designed to provide participants with hands-on learning experiences that support the knowledge and skills necessary for creating a trauma-informed environment through the use on non-violent communication.
This training focuses on the identification of personal triggers, calming solutions, and the four part non-violent communication process (Rosenberg, 2015). This process includes making observations, addressing feelings, identifying needs and values, making requests, and empathic responding. Each part of this process will be explored and participants will be encouraged to provide case examples to guide their learning.
