This training will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to provide trauma-informed care to individuals struggling with a substance use disorder. In this training we will discuss the experience of trauma and how it relates to the use of substances and the development of substance use disorders.  We will explore and practice evidence-based trauma-informed strategies and explore how these strategies may be used to support recovery.     

   

At the end of this training participants will be able to:    

1. Define trauma and resiliency factors.    

2. Describe the relationship between trauma and substance use.   

3. Describe the core elements of evidence-based trauma informed strategies.
