Participants in this training will explore the impact of work-related trauma and resiliency. They will consider how trauma in the workplace may affect them and what resources they need and are available for coping. We will discuss the concepts related to post-traumatic stress and post-traumatic growth.  Emphasis will be placed on identifying helpful coping strategies using group discussion, practice, and case reviews.  

  

At the end of this training participants will be able to:    

1. Define compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, and resilience. 

2. Describe symptoms of secondary trauma and compassion fatigue. 

3. Identify ways of coping with secondary trauma and compassion fatigue.
