Massachusetts Women & Family Referral Center
If you are a pregnant or parenting person struggling with substance use, or are working with one, please connect with the statewide Women & Family Referral Center (WFRC) at 866-705-2807.
Pregnant people have priority access to all addiction treatment services in Massachusetts. Recovery is possible, and pregnancy and postpartum is a time of opportunity and having a plan of safe care for your child’s birth can help you organize your resources.
All who contact WFRC are warmly welcomed, and our team works with individuals to decide the appropriate level of care needed and to gather a full understanding of their current needs and preferences.
We work closely to connect individuals with services, providing interim phone counseling and offering the many resources that are available for pregnant and postpartum people in the state. This includes supportive housing placement, early intervention services for young children, peer recovery support and addiction recovery services, such as the Journey Recovery Project.
The Women & Families Referral Center can respond to calls Monday through Friday 9AM to 5PM. If staff are engaged and miss direct calls, they will return calls promptly.
Outpatient Behavioral Health Services
At IHR, we provide behavioral health treatment to individuals, families, and youth/young adults. To refer to our outpatient behavioral health services, please call our intake coordinator at 857-285-6264. Our early recovery and relapse-responsive treatment is family-centered and integrates parenting, mental health, and issues related to trauma. Services are provided in the home, in the community, and at our main office in Cambridge, as well as satellite offices in Boston, Lowell, Fall River, Springfield, and Worcester. We provide individual, family, and group counseling addressing substance use, mental health, and other co-occurring disorders. Our clients often have experienced a disruption of family, housing and work/school stability, and personal safety as a result of their substance use and/or mental health disorders. Our services combine a unique approach to assertive outreach and engagement with clinical treatment services.
