BHENA is a statewide training and technical assistance initiative that helps behavioral health programs integrate policy, education and treatment of tobacco and nicotine dependence, and reduce exposure to secondhand and thirdhand smoke. The initiative assesses existing environmental policies, treatment practices, staff skills and programmatic barriers, reviews protocols, and offers options for improved treatment and cessation efforts to interested organizations. BHENA works with behavioral health and social service agencies, including the Mass. Department of Mental Health and Early Intervention programs, and provides resources on smoke-free housing.
