The Institute for Health and Recovery is a CARF-accredited, licensed mental health and substance abuse provider offering In-Home Therapy services in the Boston region as a part of the CBHI continuum. IHR specializes in working with youth and families with substance use problems and other co-occurring issues. IHR services are family-centered, trauma-informed, and community-based. Our IHT program is unique; we specialize in working with youth and their families who are struggling with substance use or are experiencing persistent behavioral problems that impact their functioning. We are also able to work with youth who are impacted by a Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and their families. Our staff is trained in the use of Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA) and Assertive Continuing Care (ACC), evidence-based substance use treatment models, which we have adapted for use in a manner consistent with the principles of IHT.
In most instances, IHT uses a two person team under a flexible model that responds to specific family needs and preferences. A master’s level clinician develops and guides treatment, makes clinical assessments and evaluations, provides family therapy, and monitors overall treatment effectiveness. A bachelor’s level staff offers much of the coaching and skill building family members need to translate therapeutic work into day-to-day behavior change. Our team focuses on:
