Strengths-based, holistic approaches

Criminal justice

IHR’s services are designed to use strengths-based, holistic approaches in all populations and to address particular needs of the communities and populations served. IHR’s work in the criminal justice and reentry populations is to expand access to age-, gender-, culturally appropriate and trauma-informed treatment and recovery services for individuals. IHR’s programs work with persons while they are still incarcerated and help them transition back into the community with appropriate recovery supports, as well as addressing critical needs of mental health, housing, transportation, peer support, reunifying with children, and finding employment. Additionally, IHR’s programs work with criminal justice staff to incorporate trauma-informed approaches to services offered to incarcerated populations.
