Project Coordinator

The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a statewide service, research, policy, program development and capacity building agency. IHR designs its services based on an understanding of the impact of trauma. IHR’s mission is to develop a comprehensive continuum of care for families, individuals, youth and pregnant and parenting women affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges and other health issues. IHR’s CARF accredited treatment programs provide holistic interventions for hard to reach and high-risk individuals and families.

Summary Statement

The Project Coordinator for Project RISE will support and develop a comprehensive continuum of care for homeless families in Gloucester, Haverhill, and Peabody, affected by substance use disorders, mental health problems and violence/trauma. The Project Director will work with the Program Supervisor to oversee, manage and report all project activities.

Essential Functions

  • Work with Assistant Director to oversee, manage and report all project activities.
  • Hire, train and supervise Family Support Specialist(s).
  • Manage the coordination of project sustainability, evaluation, and dissemination activities
  • In conjunction with partner providers, oversee implementation of Evidence Based Interventions to engage and treat homeless families located in Northshore, MA.
  • Work closely with the relevant Continuums of Care and partners to support families in moving to permanent housing
  • Oversee operational management of the project with all state partners, DHCD vendors and case managers.
  • Work closely with evaluation contractor.
  • Meet regularly with key management staff.
  • Prepare all reports to SAMHSA and relevant state agencies.
  • Communicate with IHR’s main office in Cambridge through use of shared online calendars, sign in – out board, time sheets, and check in/out with supervisor;
  • Attend team and agency staff meetings
  • Regular attendance and punctuality is required

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in in social work, counseling, psychology, public health or related field; license preferred
  • At least 5 years’ experience working with homeless families, trauma and substance use/mental health disorders
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working in multi-cultural environments and in community-based, non-profit organizations

Other Requirements (if applicable)

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Business Class Rider on Motor Vehicle Insurance, if transporting clients (within one month of start of job)
