Project Coordinator, Healthy M. E.

The Institute for Health & Recovery is a nationally-renowned, award-winning agency that specializes in innovative services, training and evaluation focused on addressing the unique needs of underserved families, women and youth. IHR’s CARF accredited treatment programs provide holistic interventions for hard to reach and high-risk individuals and families. Our mission is to develop a comprehensive continuum of care for individuals, youth, and families affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, violence/trauma, mental health challenges, and other health issues.

Summary Statement

The Project Coordinator for Healthy M.E. will support IHR’s mission to develop a comprehensive continuum of care for women, adolescents, and their families who are affected by alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use, mental health problems, and violence/trauma.

NOTE: This is full time 40 hours position and is based in Malden, Mass.

Reports to

Director of Youth & Young Adult Services

Essential Functions

  • Manage all activities of Healthy ME.
  • Assist evaluation staff with community needs assessment.
  • Report regularly to CSAP Project Officer.
  • Participate in national meetings.
  • Assist in outreach to schools, courts, social and state agencies, community, and parents to inform them of HIV CBI program.
  • Conduct Focus groups on how to reach youth with prevention messages.
  • Oversee development of social media campaigns to reach youth and parents with prevention messages.
  • Participate in hiring and training of Youth Specialists.
  • Provide supervision to HIV CBI program Youth Specialists.
  • Provide ongoing training and support in the use of evidence based interventions.
  • Be knowledgeable of community resources that serve youth for referral purposes.
  • Convene HIV CBI program Workgroups.
  • Coordinate all activities with CHA staff.
  • Act as liaison with evaluation staff.

  • Advanced degree in social work, counseling, psychology, public health or related field
  • Previous experience working with youth and substance use/HIV issues
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse cultural groups
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working with multi-cultural community-based organizations
  • Communicate with IHR’s main office in Cambridge through use of shared online calendars, time sheets, and check in/out with Supervisor
  • Meet regularly with Supervisor for supervision
  • Other duties as required

Other Requirements (if applicable)

  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and regular access to a reliable vehicle;
  • Business class rider on motor vehicle insurance, if transporting clients (Reimbursable; required within one month of start of job)
